Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you use Owain, we collect:

• Account data: Apple ID identifier and email (if you choose to share it) when you sign in with Apple.
• Profile data: age, relationship status, and goals you provide during onboarding.
• Health logs: the daily check-in data you enter manually, including sleep hours, libido, energy, mood, stress, morning erection quality, sexual activity, alcohol intake, and substance use.
• Apple Health data (optional): sleep duration, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, and workout history, only if you grant permission.
• Usage data: app interactions and feature usage through PostHog analytics. No personal health data is included in analytics events.

How we use your data

• To calculate your Sexual Health Index and sub-scores.
• To generate weekly observation reports based on your logged data.
• To power the AI coach, which uses your profile and logs to provide personalized, data-driven observations.
• To surface relevant educational articles based on your patterns.
• To send you optional push notifications (morning reminders, weekly reports).

We never use your data for advertising. We never sell your data to third parties.

AI processing

Your data is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate observations and coach responses. This data is processed in real time and is not stored by Anthropic beyond the API request. Anthropic's data retention policy applies. No personally identifiable information (name, email) is sent to the AI. Only anonymized health metrics.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored in Supabase with row-level security, meaning only you can access your own data. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We do not store passwords. Authentication is handled entirely by Apple's Sign in with Apple service.

Data retention

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. If you delete your account (Settings > Delete account), all your data is permanently removed within 30 days.

Your rights

• Access: you can view all your data within the app at any time.
• Deletion: you can delete your account and all associated data from Settings.
• Portability: contact support@owain.app to request an export of your data.

Children

Owain is not intended for anyone under 18. We block access during onboarding for users under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
